HELP! PROGRAM

Postby janphan » Wed Mar 23, 2005 3:10 am

Hi:
My mom is Vietnamese and I am not proficient in that language. We have always had a computer and recently she started learning to use it. However, I know there are programs out there that change the language of the OS, and I would like to know more about this. Particularly, what programs are good, how much do they run, and where to purchase them. We run Windows03 and WindowsXP. Thanks a lot! (btw, response in English would be greatly appreciated; I can barely understand the website as is) :)

According to http://www.microsoft.com/vietnam , Microsoft has been trying to finish a Vietnamese version for Windows XP and Office 2003. You may want to check out that site for a timetable for their releases.

Meanwhile, in Windows XP Control Panel > Regional/Language Options, select all the Vietnamese/Vietnam options you can find to see how much Vietnamese your OS can become or support.

For your information, Linux also features a Vietnamized desktop. Take a look at the latest SuSE or Redhat Fedora distros. For more info about Viet Linux: http://www.vnlinux.org/sitemoi/index.php
